ALS in Brief
ALS Arabic Learning System
When the idea of an Arabic learning program was born, eSoft board of directors agreed upon one basic idea – how to make learning the language fun and interesting! With this in mind, eSoft mobilized a highly qualified team to create ALS. ALS team began working upon visual and auditory exercises to quickly familiarize learners with seeing and hearing native Arabic.
The core materials of the Arabic as a Foreign Language program “AFL” (the first section of ALS) are based on Azzaher communicative series, authored by two experienced teachers with 30 years of experience in teaching Arabic in the Institute of Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language – Syrian Ministry of Education.
The “AFL” program was adapted and accredited by the Syrian Virtual University “SVU” (a public entity) based on the accumulated experiences of the Higher Language Institute – Damascus University. To satisfy the requirements of the accreditation process, essential academic development works were carried out by highly qualified experts, where modern educational strategies and instructional design were implemented.
The materials of the Arabic for Special Purposes program “ASP” (the second section of ALS) are being authored by distinguished specialists.
The program is 100% interactive, with synchronous and asynchronous sessions with live teachers, whose sole aim is to facilitate learning. Utilizing Flash technology, the program has videos, speaking and listening activities, with most exercises having visual and auditory support. Students can listen to correct pronunciation, and attempt to emulate real speech!
